Jay Como

James “Jay” Como is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Capital Bank. He brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience spanning banking, financial services, operations, technology, data, and digital transformation. Throughout his career, Jay has built and led large-scale organizations, modernized operating models, driven revenue growth, enhanced customer experiences, and delivered operational excellence at some of the financial services industry’s most respected institutions.

Jay joined Capital Bank in July 2026 and is responsible for leading the Bank’s Information Technology, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Facilities, and Administrative functions.

Prior to joining Capital Bank, Jay served as Global Head of Data Governance and Market Data Services at T. Rowe Price, where he played a key role in the firm’s Data and AI strategy and managed a $120 million market data business. In this role, he was responsible for advancing enterprise data governance, enabling AI-driven innovation, and optimizing the firm’s market data operations.

Earlier in his career, Jay held Chief Data Officer, Operations, and Technology leadership positions at Silicon Valley Bank, Barclays, JPMorgan Chase, and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Jay has also played an active role in shaping industry strategy and execution. Previously, he served on the Board of Directors for the EDM Association as well as Chariot Payments. Currently, he serves on the Advisory Boards of Data Safeguard, Tavro AI, and Lumenalta.

Jay earned a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College of California and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Phoenix.
